In Fury Lies Mischief by Amo Jones5/10/2023 ![]() Much like Dove, she can hold her own and pushes back at the brothers, standing up to them and refused to be walked all over. Saskia is a heroine with a strong back bone, and I adored her. He is the perfect antihero, and I think he’s my favourite hero from Amo yet because he’s so different to the others. His entire personality full of mischievousness and wit makes you laugh out loud and almost lulls you into a false sense of security, making you love him hard, so when his darkness come through you are as shocked and scared as he wants you to be. Killian is everything a dark antihero needs to be, he’s villainous, dark, cruel, a true a$$hole. She is truly an amazing writer and that’s not something that’s easy to be. Amo’s writing style is unique in that way, and also what makes her and her books so brilliant and loved. You try and solve them and work everything out and just when you think you have, all is revealed and it’s nothing like you expected, it’s so much better. She pulls you in and you question everything within the first 50% with nothing really making sense than BAM the twists and turns start to appear, leaving you desperate for answers and pulling you in further. I have the biggest book hangover and I don’t know how Amo does it time and time again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() OH MY GOD WHAT A RIDE!! It felt disrespectful and not unlike taking a selfie with a dead whale in the background (to paraphrase a scene in this book). Honestly, a great rule of thumb that I often use to be sure that I give any topic the proper respect it deserves that of making sure that I see and understand the difference between making the the whale as being the subject versus the object and in this flowing prose, the whale was used as if it were an object that the reader could use as a catalyst for her own self involved self searching for meaningfulness in the world. ![]() Speaking as someone who has several masters degrees (one in writing and documentary strategies) I did appreciate the lovely prose, but the content was that of lacking in an overall new substance and impact on the subject of whales.
